November 3, 2022An Electronic Mandate is a fully customisable debit order authorisation that is required to allow you to process a particular transaction. They can be electronically signed by your customers on any web-enabled device.
Electronic authorities to debit accounts have fast become the most popular method replacing physical mandates and voice recorded consents. The Netcash process is designed to assist in providing a secure and compliant environment in which clients can enter their account details.
How do eMandates work with Netcash?
Step 1:
Capture or send Netcash details of the mandate, this includes information such as:
- Account reference
- Amount
- Contact details -email address and/or cell number.
- Mandate specifics – dates, contract number and additional clauses
Step 2:
Netcash generates and sends the mandate request to the client via SMS and/or email.
Step 3:
Clients click on the link and are directed to the mandate website where they insert the OTP received in the email.
Step 4:
The client completes all details required in the mandate.
Step 5:
A copy of the mandate is then displayed for review.
Step 6:
An OTP is inserted to sign the mandate electronically.
Step 7:
The account holder can download a copy of the signed mandate containing the electronic signature details.
Step 8:
The mandate status is updated on the Netcash account.
Step 9:
Signed mandates can be added to the debit order Masterfile to be included in future debit batches.
Step 10:
A copy of the mandate is stored with the Masterfile entry.

Validation
Bank account numbers are validated when entered by the account holder, this means that the debit order will be accepted when processed to the bank account.

Your Netcash Electronic Mandates work on any web-enabled device meaning your customers can authorise from any device that is convenient for them be it a PC, tablet or smartphone. Both the bank account holder and the Netcash account holder receive copies of the signed mandate.
