How Scan to Pay works online

Scan to Pay can be used in multiple ways online. Customers can choose it as a payment method when shopping in your online store, when paying a physical or digital invoice, or through a simple QR code presented as a payment request. The payment process is simple and flexible for both your customers and your business, no matter where you are or what you are selling.

  1. At checkout,  the customer selects Scan to Pay (QR code) as their payment method.
  2. They then scan the QR code with their mobile phone, using any Scan to Pay or QR app. Or, if checking out on mobile, complete payment directly in their QR or digital wallet app of choice.
  3. The payment will be authorised by their bank (usually using their PIN or similar). The processed amount will be paid into your Netcash account, and you will be notified immediately.

Scan to Pay can be used on-the-go and in stores as part of a POS (Point of Sale) system to accept QR and digital wallet payments effortlessly. You can set up multiple pay points with their own unique QR code, making sales easily trackable to cashiers, till points, kiosks or sales staff. Print the codes to display at the point of sale, in lanyards for sales reps, and more for a portable payments solution.

  1. Scan to Pay can be integrated into your POS system, or set up as a physical QR code pay point. 
  2. For the POS, the cashier will select Scan to Pay as the payment method, and enter the amount to be paid.
  3. The QR code is presented to the customer to scan, and they can use their preferred QR or digital wallet to pay.
  4. Once payment is authorised, both the business and the customer will receive a payment notification.

What is included in my Netcash Scan to Pay Starter kit?
Included in your kit is 1 Perspex stand, 2 QR stand inserts, 3 stickers, 1 wobbler, and instructions.
How would I be informed of a successful transaction?
Successful transactions are confirmed via email and SMS, to the contact details you provide on your Netcash account. You can turn on and customise payment notifications in your account settings.
How do I activate Scan to Pay as a payment method?
You can activate it as part of your Netcash Payment Gateway setup in your Netcash account. Navigate to NetConnector to make your selections.
What do Scan to Pay transactions cost?
Scan to Pay transactions are charged at a fixed percentage of the transaction value. We offer competitive rates based on your business size and needs. Chat to us about your latest rates and to get a custom quote.
How long does it take to receive the activation pack?
Please allow for 2 business days for Cape Town deliveries and 3 business days for national delivery.
How many activation packs can I order?
There is no limit, although courier fees are charged per kit.
How many Pay Points could I create on the account?
There is no limit to the number of Pay Points you can create.
